Festive light-ups - Ramadan/Eid

The third of the 3 festivals falling in October is Eid, more commonly known here as Hari Raya Puasa. Geylang Serai is lit up, and huge tents erected to make a big bazaar. Photo essay.

I just would like to say that headscarves are not exactly an "absolute must" as you say. Other than that, nice post (:

Its refreshing to see the sights, that I have become so routine to me, be captured in a different light. Cheers for a delightful commentary accompanying it too. About the lights put up outside the homes - traditionally in kampongs the Malays would light up the perimeter of their house with kerosene lamps, "lampu colok" I think, to welcome the Eid. With everyone moving to HBD flats, this practice is no longer feasible, or safe, hehe, thus the lights :)

Thanks Mr Au, I can see that you put in effort to make your photo essay well balanced.

Thanks, the chicken wings make me very hungry.

Cool post; enjoyed it very much! And yep, the lights are purely festive! It's interesting to see the different patterns that some household put into arranging the fairy lights though, most often on their balconies and porch!
