My mother's Christmas

Earlier this week, my mother was rushed, again, to hospital. I was prepared for the worst. Full essay.

I hope you get through this rough patch.. honestly, I cant say things like "hope she gets better" because at this point, what is "better"? I have a parent in a similar situation right now and we just take things one day at a time. Thank you for sharing this yb..

Pneumonia used to be called "the old man's friend" because those elderly suffering an advanced illness were often carried off by it.

Antibiotics changed that to a great extent, but in many cases they actually prolonged the suffering to which the elderly person returned when the pneumonia was cured.

I'll light a candle tomorrow at church for you and your mother.

You write beautifully, sir.

I hope she is happy too. Whoever who had a hand in bringing up such a great man as yourself deserves much happiness.

our breathing and food tubes join at the throat because we are descended from fish: mouth gulps water, solids get filtered out to go down the digestive tube, while liquid passes through the gills that pick up oxygen

just curious: what was her attitude towards homosexuality? (if you prefer not to answer, that would be fine)

As a mother, she only has love for you. Other things does not matter.

She is happy. And you are loved.

Alex, my best wishes to your mother.
Can;t you keep your mother with you, at home, with a maid?
Nursing homes are usually terrible places for the old and helpless.
or is this the way of the future... not taking care of our old?
The mexican culture, they look after their old people, has society changed so much that family members have no time to look after their own parents?
